Keanu Reynolds was cast in the Hulu adaptation Devil In The White City by Erik Larson.
Devil in the White City is the true story about Daniel H. Burnham. He was the iconic architect and creative vision behind 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. H. H. Holmes was America’s first serial killer and responsible for Murder Castle, where he murdered many of his victims.
Holmes confessed in 27 murders to Holmes before his execution in 1896. However, some of his victims were later found alive and well. Some claimed Holmes had killed as many as 200 people, according to a 2020 history feature.
It is not clear which of the leading characters Reeves will play.
The John Wick star will executive produce the series. Other heavy hitters are also on board. Leonardo DiCaprio, and Martin Scorsese are also executive producers.
Actually, the involvement of Scorsese and DiCaprio can be traced back over a decade. DiCaprio purchased the rights to the book in 2010 with the intention of staring in the project. Scorsese was to direct.
However, scheduling conflicts and difficulties in development delayed the project long enough to be retooled as television series. IndieWire revealed that the streamer had been working on the show since 2019.
The series will be written and directed by Little Children‘s Todd Field.
