Aerosmith Frontman Steven Tyler is entering a rehabilitation facility. Aerosmith made the announcement on Tuesday, and revealed that the singer had been admitted to a rehab facility after undergoing foot surgery.
So they are no longer going through the dates in July and June of their forthcoming Las Vegas residency.
“As all of us are aware that our beloved brother Steven has been working on his sobriety for a long time. Following foot surgery to prepare him for the stage, and to ensure the need for pain management during the process, he recently relapsed , and has joined a program of treatment to focus on his recovery and health,” Aerosmith said in its announcement through social media. “We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must cancel our first set of Las Vegas Residency dates this June and July while he focuses on his well-being.”
“We will continue our 2022 dates starting in September, and we’ll let you know any further updates as soon as we can,” the release continued. “We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows.”
Aerosmith has not stated if any of their summer shows were rescheduled, but they did inform fans that Ticketmaster will refund tickets within the next few days. The cancellations are a result of Aerosmith earlier announcing they were cancelling the band’s European concert in the month of January due to concerns about COVID-19 The shows were scheduled to be held in July and June. “It is with deep regret we must announce that our European Tour, scheduled to take place in June and July 2022, has been cancelled,” Aerosmith posted on Facebook on January. 31.
The portion for the fall of Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild is scheduled to continue according to plan at Las Vegas’ Dolby Live at the Park MGM starting September. 14. The residency will have two dates planned for October. Five dates are scheduled during November, and four dates in December.
In closing the statement, Aerosmith stated, “Thank you for your understanding and for your support for Steven during this time.”
