Comedian Dave Chappelle was assaulted on stage throughout his set at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday evening, in response to individuals who attended the presentation and photographs circulating on social media.
On several occasions attendees posted movies of the incident on Tuesday night, the footage seeming to point out Chappelle on stage performing when a person to his proper rushes at him making an attempt to deal with him.
The man is then seen to be dragged away by safety.
In video footage, Chappelle is seen to get better his composure and joke, “It was a trans man,” a reference to the ongoing controversy surrounding a few of the comic’s jokes in his Netflix specials which were construed as transphobic.
Later, in the video of the curtain name, Chappelle spoke extra about the incident and referred to as out to thank actor-comedian Jamie Foxx. “Whenever you’re in trouble, Jamie Foxx will show up in a sheriff’s hat,” stated Chappelle.
“N——, I thought that was part of the show, I didn’t know what the fuck…” Foxx jokes in response.
Chappelle then says, “I grabbed the back of that n—— head. His hair was spongy. Absorbent”
Chappelle then jokes to Foxx, “I’ve been doing this for 35 years. I just stomped an——— backstage. I’ve always wanted to do that.”

Chappelle was performing as a part of the Netflix Is A Joke Fest, a Los Angeles comedy competition put on by streaming large Netflix.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Chappelle’s reps and Netflix for a remark.
